Statement on the Elimination of the Disability Minister Role from Federal Cabinet

Autism Canada is deeply disappointed and concerned by the decision of the federal government to eliminate a dedicated disability representative Minister from the federal cabinet. As we struggle as a society to provide the appropriate supports that allow for fuller integration into society for people with disabilities, it is critical that the federal government play an active role in coordinating the various provincial and territorial governments to build a state where people with disabilities are supported to reach their full potential.

In the coming days we will be writing to the Prime Minister to reconsider this decision and express our concerns on behalf of the autism community.
