Message from the Executive Director

Autism Canada Foundation has had a fantastic 2007-year and it has been wonderful for me to have be part of it. Please take a minute and celebrate with us some of our many accomplishments over this last year. Please know without the help of you, our friends and supporters, we could not have:

• Launched our New Autism Canada Website, which offers comprehensive information on effective treatments and therapies.



• Launched our new e-Newsletter and e-Announcement format.



• Contributed to the Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology hearings on autism that resulted in the report Pay Now or Pay Later: Autism Families in Crisis.



• Worked with other autism organizations to launch a new Canadian ASD Alliance.



• Held a national press conference on Parliament Hill with Senators Munson and Keon sharing the new model of autism as a whole-body disorder with treatable features.



• Gathered parents, professionals and individuals with ASD in Ottawa to learn about the latest research and treatments. Our message is one of hope. Autism is treatable! Recovery from autism is possible!



• Been the proud recipients of the SING OUT LOUD! event featuring John Tesh and Jim Chapman & friends.



• Been the proud recipients of the 21st Annual "Access to Success" event presented by the Brickenden Speakers Bureau.



• Supported families that call and email for direction in dealing with this complex disorder.

Autism Canada is commitment to making a difference.
